Welcome to Win a Prize (https://winaprize.co.za). By entering any of our competitions, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not accept these terms, please do not enter any competition or use the website.

1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all competitions operated by Win a Prize(“we”, “us”, “our”).

1.2 By purchasing an entry and participating in any of our competitions, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.3 These competitions are skill-based and compliant with the laws of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Entrants must be aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.

2.2 Entrants must reside in South Africa and hold a valid South African ID or Passport.

2.3 Employees, directors, or immediate family members of Win a Prize (Pty) Ltd or its agents are not eligible to enter.

3. Competition Entry

3.1 Each competition requires a paid entry and may include a skill-based question.

3.2 Only correct answers to the competition question will be entered into the final draw.

3.3 Entries can be submitted via our website https://winaprize.co.za.

3.4 Each competition clearly states:

  • The closing date and time
  • The prize being offered
  • The entry price
  • The number of total entries available (if limited)

3.5 Free postal entries are available and must include the entrant’s full name, address, contact number, email, and correct answer to the competition question (if applicable). Details can be found on the Free Entry section of each competition.

4. Choosing the Winner

4.1 Winners will be selected through a random draw from all correct entries once the competition closes.

4.2 Draws are conducted either live-streamed or recorded, to ensure full transparency.

4.3 The winner will be contacted by email and/or phone within 72 hours of the draw.

4.4 If we cannot reach the winner within 14 days, or the winner fails to claim the prize, we reserve the right to select an alternative winner.

5. Prizes

5.1 Prizes are clearly described on the competition page. Images are for illustrative purposes only unless stated otherwise.

5.2 Prizes are not exchangeable for cash, unless a cash alternative is explicitly offered.

5.3 All prizes are subject to availability. If a prize is unavailable for any reason, we reserve the right to substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value.

5.4 Winners must provide valid identification and may be required to sign a prize acceptance form.

6. Refunds, Cancellation & Competition Changes

6.1 Entry fees are non-refundable except where a competition is cancelled or deemed void by Win a Prize.

6.2 We reserve the right to cancel or extend a competition if:

  • Insufficient entries are received
  • Technical errors occur
  • Events beyond our control impact the draw

6.3 In such cases, we may offer:

  • A full refund
  • A revised prize
  • An alternative competition entry

7. Publicity

7.1 By entering a competition, you agree to allow us to publish your name, city, and photo on our website and social media for promotional purposes, should you win.

7.2 We will always ask your permission before using your image or testimonial in any promotional video or advertisement.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Win a Prize, its directors, or partners are not responsible for:

  • Technical issues affecting entries
  • Postal delays
  • Loss, theft, or damage to a prize once delivered

8.2 Our liability is limited to the value of the prize in the relevant competition.

9. Privacy Policy

9.1 Your personal data is protected in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

9.2 We collect your data solely to operate competitions, notify winners, and improve our services. Your data will never be sold or shared without your consent.

10. Governing Law

10.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.

10.2 Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
